Make It Count’s Operation Renovation helps hometown hero’s family

We first met the Seitz family back in December when their eldest son, Air Force Sgt. Rick Seitz, finally returned home from his latest deployment from Iraq. He hadn’t been home for the holidays in six years.  After a wonderful and warm homecoming, Sgt. Seitz has returned to his Air Force base in Arizona and once again left his home behind.  A home that was in desperate need of repair.

But with economic stress home repairs didn’t seem possible. Until we received a generous offer from Make it Count Foundation.  Jon Reese, Founder and board member Mark Sagliocca came and assessed the needs of this East Islip resident and went to work immediately. “They replaced our very leaky roof, replaced 2 stoops that had deteriorated, power washed and stained the front of our house and repaired the electric feed from the street.   As if that wasn’t enough, Make It Count Foundation re-sided the remaining three sides of our house and replaced four windows as well.” says Sandy Seitz. “Every day seemed like Christmas, I went to work and came home to something new!”
