On July 14, 2010, the Make It Count Foundation distributed 25 backpacks to school-aged children at the annual Suffolk County Habitat for Humanity Picnic, Southaven Park. Karen Sossin, Nutritionist, presented the backpacks chock full of school supplies to the joyful children. Karen also provided nutrition handouts and dispensed nutrition information to the inquiring families. These families all braved the thunderstorms in order to connect, bond and form new friendships.
